This project is located along the Trans-Canada Highway in Banff National Park and involved the installation of a temporary detour bridge and then the rehabilitation of two two-lane bridges over an animal crossover. The scope of work includes a full detour of Highway 1, concrete cold milling, demo and installation of cast-in-place concrete barriers, deck overhang, approach slabs, and deck joints. The work also includes partial depth repairs to the deck, concrete overlay, modifications to the abutments and piers, installation of bridge rail, approach asphalt, and bearing pad replacement. After the bridge rehabilitations are complete, the detour road and bridge will be removed and the area restored.
