Constructed in 1955, Manning Bridge has played a vital role in connecting communities north of the Notikewin River on Highway 35 with essential goods and services. This bridge has well exceeded it’s service life and as such was in much need for repair. CWP completed the bridge rehabilitation in a span of 6 months consisting of milling, concrete demolition, full depth delamination repairs, abutment backwall repairs, deck joint seal replacement, dry finishing and sealing, chip sealing, and approach paving. Due to the multitude of repairs, this project required construction of a temporary suspended work platform below the bridge deck while still maintaining a single lane of traffic above. This project also earned CWP the 2024 Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors Minister’s Partnering Award of Excellence for exceptional teamwork between all parties involved.
